Designing and creating your cake with Olofson Design is indulgent in the extreme. Every cake I make begins life as a blank sheet of paper – there’s no list of standard designs, no cakes made on a regular basis but fresh, innovative designs created solely for you.
I lavish time and attention on every commission, every couple and every cake. I can do this because I take on a strictly limited number of projects every year. I will only work on one wedding per weekend and summer dates are snapped up months in advance. And why not? The earlier you book, the more time you have to enjoy the process…
This is always the starting point because it’s important for me to understand what you want from your cake and it’s important for you to be able to share everything with me. The consultation is an informal chat where you can give me all the details of your wedding and I can start to see what cake I could create for you.
After our discussions, I’ll pull together ideas and inspiration images to share with you and then I start to sketch. From your feedback on the initial drawings, I’ll finalise the proposed design and provide you with a quote. We’ll sample some cake and once all the details are confirmed, a 40% deposit is requested and your cake is ready to be made. From this point, you need do no more as I’ll liaise with your venue and suppliers to deliver your cake so it’s ready to enjoy.
There are so many reasons why your cake will taste as amazing as it looks. Firstly, I adore flavour so will always encourage you to try new options alongside you favourites and there’s no limit to what we can do here. I understand that great flavours are born from the best ingredients and so I source everything I use in my cakes with care and locally sourced, fair trade, organic elements are always high on my agenda. I also work from an immaculately clean, eco-friendly professional catering kitchen where all waste is recycled and nothing is sent to landfill.
